What’s New in Adobe Photoshop CS5?

Photoshop is one of those super-powerful tools that we can only dream of knowing how to use all the features of. As a business owner, you’ll need to photos for websites and blogs. Sometimes you’ll need to images for clients and suppliers. And once in a while you’ll want to adjust a family photo. The free programs just won’t do.
Now, in terms of quality and versatility, there isn’t another choice besides Photoshop. With Photoshop you can cleanup, color correct, crop and output all your photos. Learn how to optimize images for the web (in just 9 steps).

Clean removal of unwanted photo elements - Easily remove any image component, person or object. The new Content-Aware Fill feature quickly fills in the remaining gap. The interesting part of this is that it matches lighting, tone, and noise – so much so that it looks like an original photograph.

Reshaping image elements with Puppet Warp – If you can imagine that your photo is actually a clay model on your desk then you can kind of imagine the possibilities of this tool. Curve an elephant’s trunk or make your 83-year-old granny bend like a gymnast. Of course, this has realistic design application as well, if only you can stop making all your photos look like they came straight out of a Dr. Seuss book.

4. Mini Bridge

Bridge has always been a great tool. Now with Mini Bridge, you can access your images and other assets directly inside of Photoshop. It displays as a panelized version of Bridge.

5. Workspace Switcher

Let’s say you often switch between tasks within Photoshop. The new Workspace Switcher makes it much easier. Simply click on the option on the top tool bar to adjust.
Choose from the following workspace options:
  • Essentials
  • Design
  • Painting
  • Photography
  • 3D
  • Motion
  • And of course, you can make custom workspace.
What is a “workspace”? A workspace is the layout of tools and features within Photoshop. When designing, for example, you’ll require a different set of tools than when you’re processing photos.
