Top 5 Ways to Use Technorati

With your blog claimed, its time to start using the features of the Technorati tool. Here are five great uses of the site.
  1. Blog and Post Search: This great feature, found right at the top of the navigation bar, allows visitors to find blogs or posts on a specific topic or theme. This is the real reason for using Technorati. See whats going on in your niche.
  2. Tag Feeds: Each tag has a unique RSS feed, which is great news if your topic isn't too broad.
    Let's say, for example, that your niche is "social media". By clicking on "Tags" on the top navigation bar, you can scroll down and select the "social media" tag. From there, just scroll down to the heading: Latest blogosphere posts tagged "social-media". If you look in the top right of the box, you'll see a small graphic that reads RSS. Click on this icon, and sign-up for RSS feeds. This is a great tool to see the news for the day, in your niche. It is also a great way to generate ideas for your next blog post.
  3. State of the Blogosphere: Ever wonder the size and growth of the blogging world? Check this interesting and encouraging resource for bloggers.
  4. Technorati Authority: After you've explored the site a little, you are probably left wondering what the "authority" rating is all about. Essentially, it is a combination of the popularity, linking, and influence of a specific blog, in a specific category, over a specific period of time. Authority is on a scale of 0-1000, with 1000 being the highest possible.
  5. Technorati Firefox Add-on: Pegged as a real time search engine, this add-on has more than 207,000 downloads. If trending is important to you, you should consider this Firefox add-on.
