Dynamic Website

Definition:
A dynamic website is one that changes and customizes itself, based on certain user input.
There are two types of dynamic applications within a website: code and content. The purpose of each is to automate the website for a customized user experience. A dynamic website is also easier to create and maintain than a static website.
The benefit is that it loads quicker, and allows even inexperienced users to create and maintain their website, using a dashboard style administrative tool. This is great for websites that require frequent updates, especially ecommerce sites and photo galleries.
Websites such as eBay and Amazon are examples of sites that customize themselves, based on the users account info, previous purchases or viewing history. Other dynamic sites offer easy Web page design, but without the depth of these two examples. Wordpress offers a dynamic environment where site owners can add and modify content without having to physically create, save and link to each of these new pages. Because of the administration tools, this often doesn't require a significant knowledge of programming languages.
