Static Website

Definition:
In contrast to a dynamic website, a static site remains the same regardless of the visitor and their interests. The information is predefined and remains the same, until changed by the designer.
Commonly, small and brochure styled websites are in this format. Huge websites are virtually impossible to maintain as a static site, due to the sheer volume of individual pages. Many small businesses use this format, because the initial learning curve can be much less than dynamic projects.
Static sites are best used for projects that need little updating, and need to be created quickly.
